Creationist Dishonesty.

This page lists some of the ways in which creationists are wrong or are dishonest about science, atheism and religion.

Here, what I mean by by "creationism" is the sets of beliefs that deny major aspects of well-established mainstream science. This would include YEC (Young Earth Creationism) but also OEC (Old Earth Creationism), that denies the reality of evolution. 

1) "You can't be a true Christian/Muslim/follower of Judaism if you accept deep time, evolution etc."

This is often heavily implied by creationists, rather than stated plainly. They are often shy of being honest about their thoughts in this matter. The fact is that many denominations do accept evolution etc., and it is not the place of creationists to claim that followers of Abrahamic religions who accept science are not 'real' religionists.

2) "Evolution is atheistic."

See above. Nothing about evolution precludes the notion that there is a God behind creation.

3) "Evolution includes all the sciences that falsify a literal scripture interpretation." 

Words often have multiple meanings. The main meaning of "evolution" is biological evolution, the fact of, and the why and how the forms of living things change over generations. Phrases like "cosmic evolution" and "stellar evolution" occasionally come up. These have nothing to do with the process of biological evolution, and stand on their own as explanations of separate phenomena. Of course, it suits the creationist propagandists to...

4) "Evolution must explain the origin of life."

5) "Evolution must explain the origin of the universe, and all its attributes."

6) Quote-mining.

7) "The famous scientists of the past were creationists."

8) "Evolution is racist".

9) "Evolution is pro-abortion".

10) "'Creation science' is a thing."

11) "The notion of 'Deep Time' was invented to support the idea of evolution."

12) "The details of living organisms are evidence of intelligent design."

13) "The Bible is the Word of God and cannot be wrong."
