About the Author - Glenn Morton

I have had 34 years experience looking for oil and gas around the world, from Scotland, to Algeria, to the East Coast of the United States, South Texas, West Texas, the Rocky Mountain region, Alaska and China. I have found 33 oil fields and drilled my share of dry holes. The various positions held by me include: Manager of Geophysical Training for a major oil Co., Chief Geophysicist for a small independent oil company, Geophysical Manager - Onshore Gulf Coast, Geophysical Manager--Gulf of Mexico and Chief Geophysicist for China , Manager Geophysics for the  US Offshore,  Geophysical Manager for the North Sea, Director of Integrated Technology and am currently Director of Exploration for China with a large independent oil company living in Beijing China.  I speak Mandarin (not fluent but able to communicate)

After receiving a B. S. in Physics I spent one year in graduate school studying the philosophy of science. I entered the oil industry as a seismic processor where I began to learn geology on the job. Before this education in geology was complete, I published 27 articles and notes in the Creation Research Society Quarterly, presented a paper at the first International Conference on Creationism, and ghost wrote the evolution section in Josh McDowell's book Reasons Skeptics Should Consider Christianity. During this period I switched sub-disciplines within geophysics and began to interpret seismic data. There was a major problem; the data I was seeing at work, was not agreeing with what I had been taught as a Christian. Doubts about what I was writing and teaching began to grow.

Unfortunately, my fellow young earth creationists were not willing to listen to the problems.

By 1986, the growing doubts about the ability of the widely accepted creationist viewpoints to explain the geologic data led to a nearly 10 year withdrawal from publication. Eventually my doubts about the reliability grew so large that I was driven to the edge of becoming an atheist. In this crisis of faith, the views presented in this book were formed. It is the my hope that the views presented in the here on the web page and in my books will help others avoid the type of intellectual and spiritual crisis that I went through.

Places I have been to: Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, China, United Kingdom, Japan, Netherlands, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Italy, Austria, France, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Denmark, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vatican, Hong Kong, Tibet, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Antarctica (actually have a passport stamp from a Chilean station there), and the US.

I have flown within 120 miles of the North Pole, but never been south of the Equator, the farthest south is 1 degree N. I have been up to 17,028 feet in the Himalayas.

Things I have eaten: dog, scorpion, pigeon, chan yong (silkworm pupae--see picture below), sea horse, pine tips, grass, kelp, donkey, cuttlefish, pig ear, 1000 year old eggs, ludafisk (sp?), ants, grasshoppers, eel, jellyfish, sea slug, fish stomachs, sea cucumber, clams, oysters, bison, ostrich, haggis(a Scottish form of trype), blood pudding, raw kibba (Arabic lamb or beef dish uncooked), snail, octopus, squid, shark, abalone, scallops, alligator, turtle, rabbit, frog, shrimp(shell and all), crawfish, goat brain (served as a cooked head on a plate on the table), lamb, cow, cow brain, chicken, grouse, quail, quail eggs, goose, gooseberries, lobster, langsteins, scallops, duck feet, chicken feet, rattlesnake, bear, deer, javelina, waterbuffalo, Tibetan yak, Tibetan yak stomach, Tibetan yak butter tea, ginkgo beans, lotus root, lily bulb, bamboo, bamboo fungus, seaweed, Antarctic krill, pig stomach, cow intestines among others.
