Well, no. I am utterly incensed by them.
This twonk didn't start the anti-vax conspiracy theory, but it is a telling indictment of our supposedly scientific civilization that a totally unqualified moron, dangerously out of touch with reality, is the "United States Secretary of Health and Human Services".

I was at my local French pharmacy for a Shigrix shot. This is a vaccine against the virus that causes shingles, the zoster virus. I had always thought that shingles was just a very unpleasant viral infection, very unpleasant, but not dangerous. Then I learned about the neurological damage the disease can do. In the case of Kennedy, such damage would go unnoticed, but me, I want to keep my marbles for as long as possible, please.
Chatting with the pharmacist, attitudes to vaccination in different countries came up. He asked me what qualifications Kennedy had. Kennedy had earned a Juris Doctor degree from the New York University School of Law in 1989, a law degree - nothing to do with medicine, biology or virology. He then failed the New York bar exam twice before passing on his third attempt.
Americans, this is the guy responsible for the wellbeing of your children - except that he is criminally irresponsible.
I liken anti-vaxxer drivel to leaving loaded weapons or dangerous medicines, drugs or poisons out within easy reach of young children. If it leads to a single child's death or serious harm, you conspiracy nuts are culpable. This is the price you are prepared to pay for the spurious frisson you get from believing that you are the possessor of inside information that is being ignored by the gullible? No. You number within the ranks of the gullible and criminally irresponsible.
